Boston Book Review
"...a fascinating book, a you-won't-be-able-to-put-it-down read and probably the most exciting nonfiction book I have yet read this fall....Accompanied by illustrations from the newspapers of the day and black-and-white historical photographs, Murphy succeeds wildly in bringing this great tragedy to life." - Tim Moses November 1995

Hungry Mind Review
"Rarely has an historical event been brought so fully to life in a book for young readers." Summer 1996
