Annotation:
Fans of W.E.B. Griffin's political fiction will be pleased with this third installment in his new Presidential Agent Series. THE HUNTERS follows the trail of its predecessor, THE HOSTAGE, and once again the reader is being led through dangerous political terrain by Army Major Carlos "Charley" Castillo. Castillo is traveling to Uruguay to further unravel the corruption behind the Iraq oil-for-food scandal, but when he witnesses the murder of a key player in the deal, he realizes the mystery runs deeper than he ever could have imagined. Griffin's wealth of political knowledge is on prominent display here, and he delivers the story with his usual rapid-fire approach.
Author Bio
W. E. B. Griffin
W. E. B. Griffin's first assignment in the U.S. Army brought him to Germany as a part of the army of occupation. Having first joined in 1946, Griffin interrupted his studies at Philips University in Germany to serve again in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953, seeing active duty as a combat information officer. He continued to work with the Army after the war as chief of the publications division in Alabama, but left this post after publishing three novels and realizing he could now make a living writing military thrillers. Also the author of a series of police procedurals, Griffin is best known for the thrillers he set during both the Vietnam and Korean wars. Having had direct experience with his subject, Griffin injects all his work with a degree of detail and authenticity his readers have come to expect.

Praise

"Exhibiting a thorough knowledge of how the government and the military work (or don't work) and a detailed knowledge of multitudes of weapons systems, Griffin offers another novel that is fast-paced, exciting, and great fun to read." - Robert Conroy September 2006
