Author Bio
Len Deighton
A writer of history books, war novels and cookbooks, Len Deighton is perhaps best known as a mystery writer, penning dark and cynical suspense novels featuring such heroes as British spy Bernard Samson and, in the film versions of the novels, a less glamorous, unnamed spy known as Harry Palmer. Educated in London at St. Martin's School of Art and Royal College of Art, Deighton worked as a pastry cook, railwayman, airline steward, and factory manager before becoming a best-selling author. "The Len Deighton Companion", a 1987 study of his work, confirmed that his greatest skills lay elsewhere.
