Inspiration

by JJ Johnston on 6/18/2008

I was exposed to this at a quarterly meeting for my company a couple months ago. If this does not give you inspiration, nothing will. For anyone who hasn't listened to this, it will be the best money you spend this year... Read More

Compelling story but fell short

on 12/19/2008

The author is a great man with a great story to tell. I was waiting to learn some lessons about life that I could use, and there were few. Live for today, make your life worth something, leave something behind for others - those were a few of the lessons learned. From the Publisher
Annotation In this inspiring and sometimes moving publishing phenomenon, computer science professor Randy Pausch offers a summation of his life and what he has learned. The book is derived from a presentation that Pausch made after he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Addressing his children, he spoke on the topic "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams." When a tape of his talk was published on the YouTube website, it became a hit, as millions who viewed the clip found that his words struck a chord. Here he fleshes out and adds to his earlier work. What comes through is a gentle, sincere, and clear set of lessons on living and appreciating. (Randy Pausch passed away in July, 2008.)
