In this follow-up to "The Lion''s Game, " John Corey, former NYPD Homicide detective and special agent for the Anti-Terrorist Task Force, is back. And, unfortunately for Corey, so is Asad Khalil, the notorious Libyan terrorist otherwise known as "The Lion." Available in a tall Premium Edition.
From the Publisher:
When The Lion's Game was published in 2000, it was an instant critically acclaimed New York Times bestseller. Now Special Agent John Corey returns to confront Asad Khalil, the Libyan terrorist known as . . .

THE LION

The last time Federal Agent John Corey of the Anti-Terrorist Task Force heard from Khalil, he claimed he was defecting to the U.S.-only to unleash a deadly reign of destruction on American soil. As Corey and FBI agent Kate Mayfield chased him across the country, Khalil eliminated his victims one by one and then disappeared without a trace.

Now, after the events of September 11, Khalil has resurfaced, returning to murder a select group of enemies, with Kate and John topping the list. As the bodies begin to pile up, John Corey finds himself back on the hunt. The Lion is a killing machine on a mission of revenge-and Corey will stop at nothing to find and kill Khalil before he himself is killed.

"Let the pulse pounding begin."

-New York Post (Beach Book Pick)

"You won't be able to put this one down, and you learn about the roots of terrorism to boot."

-Lisa Scottoline, on The Today Show
Annotation:
When Asad Khalil's family was killed during the American bombing of Libya, the young man became an unwavering enemy of the global superpower. His mission of revenge brought him head to head with NYPD detective and Anti-Terrorist Task Force leader John Corey in Nelson DeMille's previous heart-pounding novel, THE LION'S GAME. All was not resolved, however, and Khalil, whose code name is "The Lion," plans to return to the U.S. and unleash his most devastatingly destructive plot yet. But if Khalil is singular in his vindictive purpose, equally so is Corey: working tirelessly with his partner Kate Mayfield, he will not rest until Khalil's violent fire is smothered.

Praise

"Fast-paced....[T]hose who enjoy starkly black-and-white battles between good and evil will be satisfied." 05/10/2010

"DeMille is a brisk storyteller whose hero, retired but hardly inactive federal anti-terrorist agent John Corey, is a talented wisecracker." - Dennis Drabelle 06/20/2010
