| The incomparable master of the legal thriller takes us deeper into the labyrinth that is the American justice system, always drawing us in with an irresistible hook, pull-ing the thread of tension tighter and tighter, and then knocking us out with a conclusion that''s never "by the book." Maybe that''s why, after more than twenty years of consecutive #1 "New York Times" best sellers, a new novel by America''s favorite storyteller is still a major publishing event. |

Annotation:
It's not always easy to earn a buck as a lawyer in Chicago, at least not for Oscar Finley and Wally Figg. Their names may be cute, but they are fairly shameless when it comes to what these two will do to chase down an easy-money legal conflict. So when a frustrated young lawyer with corporate firm experience wants to team up, Finley & Figg can hardly believe their luck--especially since David Zinc comes baring information about a big class-action suite that's about to break against a prescription drug company. Varrick Labs makes a killing, but it's becoming apparent that their cholesterol drug, Krayoxx, might also do some damage. Finley & Figg simply need to track down a handful of Krayoxx users who have had heart trouble, and they should stand to earn some real money for once. THE LITIGATORS is, however, a John Grisham novel, so don't think it will all go smoothly for Finley, Figg, and Zinc. In his 25th novel, Grisham employs a light hand that keeps this story zooming along and always fun to read.

Author Bio
John Grisham
John Grisham woke up at 5:00 every morning for three years to complete his first novel, A TIME TO KILL. Working as a lawyer and a member of Mississippi's state legislature, Grisham published his debut thriller with a small and somewhat unknown publisher, receiving only local readership in his home state. He finally burst on to the national scene with his second novel, THE FIRM, a legal thriller that sold millions of copies and stayed on the New York Times best-seller list for 47 weeks. Shortly afterward, Grisham moved to Oxford, Mississippi, where he began working on a series of new legal thrillers, including THE PELICAN BRIEF and THE CLIENT, all of which became bestsellers and were subsequently made into successful films. Having graduated from the University of Mississippi in Oxford with a law degree in 1981, Grisham went on to base his popular thrillers on his experience as a specialist in criminal defense. His once-unknown debut, A TIME TO KILL, was made into a major motion picture in 1996.
Praise
"Barant continues to explore themes of persecution and discrimination with outsider Jace struggling to find her place....A stellar addition to an already outstanding series." (top pick)
