Annotation:
Young James Cromwell goes to college at Notre Dame, competes in the Berlin Olympics in 1936 as a boxer, fights in World War II, and serves as aide to the ambassador to Korea during the Korean War. This historical novel takes place mainly during the 1950s, and focuses on Cromwell and his boss in Korea, the difficulties in dealing with General Douglas MacArthur, and the challenges of a war that is very different from World War II.
