The four seemingly unconnected murders of a narcotics cop, a bar owners wife and partner, and a heroin addict come to light in a convergence of corruption and the Mob that threatens to tear apart the Philadelphia police department. Reprint. *Author: Griffin, W. E. B. *Publication Date: 1995/11/01 *Binding Type: Paperback *Language: English *Depth: 1.00 *Width: 4.00 *Height: 6.50
From the Publisher:
A vice cop is shot dead in his home. A bar owner and his wife are gunned down during a robbery. And in a mansion, a young woman dies of a heroine overdose. The crimes seem unconnected. But these deaths are about to trigger a convergence of corruption, cops, and the mob that could tear the Philadelphia Police Department apart from the inside out.
A vice cop is shot dead in his home; a bar owner and his wife are gunned down in a robbery; a young woman dies from a heroin overdose in a beautiful mansion. At first the crimes seem unrelated. However, Chief of Detectives Matt Lowenstein's investigation reveals an intricate web of mobsters, cops, and corruption that threatens the stability of the Philadelphia Police Department.
Author Bio
W. E. B. Griffin
W. E. B. Griffin's first assignment in the U.S. Army brought him to Germany as a part of the army of occupation. Having first joined in 1946, Griffin interrupted his studies at Philips University in Germany to serve again in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953, seeing active duty as a combat information officer. He continued to work with the Army after the war as chief of the publications division in Alabama, but left this post after publishing three novels and realizing he could now make a living writing military thrillers. Also the author of a series of police procedurals, Griffin is best known for the thrillers he set during both the Vietnam and Korean wars. Having had direct experience with his subject, Griffin injects all his work with a degree of detail and authenticity his readers have come to expect.
