Author Info
Nora Roberts
Nora Roberts didn't become an immediate best-selling author, but once she sold her first novel, she never looked back. A mother of two small children at the time, Roberts began writing in 1979 with a number-two pencil and a spiral notebook. She wrote sporadically while her two sons were at school, a schedule she maintained long after they had grown up and gone to college. Two years and several manuscripts after her initial attempt, her first novel, "Irish Thoroughbred", appeared, the first of over 100 novels she would write in the following two decades. While having dabbled in many of the genre's forms, Roberts has found most of her success writing contemporary romances flavored with both suspense and adventure. The youngest of five children, Roberts grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland. In 1968, she married Ronald Aufdem-Brinke, the father of her two children, but divorced him in 1985, the same year she married her second husband, Bruce Wilder.
From the Publisher
Editors Note Olivia tries to reconstruct in detail the night her mother, a member of the Hollywood elite, was murdered, in a new novel from the New York Times best-selling author of Honest Illusions and The Reef. Simultaneous. (romance).
Annotation The first entry in romance juggernaut Nora Roberts's Inn BoonsBoro trilogy is set in a vintage hotel in western Maryland (which, incidentally, may or may not be haunted). The hotel is being renovated by the Montgomery family, of Montgomery Family Contractors, which comprises brother Ryder, Owen, and Beckett. The story revolves around the ruggedly handsome architect Beckett Montgomery, and his long-standing crush on Clare Murphy Brewster, an old high school acquaintance who has moved back to Boonsboro with her kids after her husband is killed in combat. The other brothers also pursue local ladies to varying degrees of success. Will Beckett win Clare's heart? Is the ghost real? All these questions are answered, while the charming details of small-town life (the author owns the real-life Inn BoonsBoro) unfold authentically.
