Author Info
Rachel Isadora
Author and illustrator Rachel Isadora planned a career as a ballerina but an injury forced her to abandon that dream. Many of her books, such as her first, MAX, reflect her interest in dance. Her 1979 work, BEN'S TRUMPET, was named a Caldecott Honor Book. In addition to her picture books, Isadora also creates books for toddlers such as I HEAR and FRIENDS.
Praise
"Isadora continues her series of traditional tales recast in African settings with this novel interpretation of the classic poem...The entire book is exquisitely designed...."
"Full of details, rich color, and an exuberant spirit, this book will provide opportunities for discussion as well as a new cultural landscape for the right jolly old elf."
