Author Info
John Sandford
John Sandford is the pseudonym of Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist John Camp.
After serving in the Korean War, John Sandford began his journalism career working in Missouri and Iowa before moving to Florida in 1970. He worked for "The Miami Herald" for eight years before moving again to Minnesota to work for "The Saint Paul Pioneer Press", where he became a popular columnist. In the mid-'80s, during what was then called the "Farm Crisis," Sandford, under his given name John Camp, wrote a five-part series focusing on the hardships of a Minnesota farming family. His reporting won him a Pulitzer Prize for feature writing. Several years later, Sandford published his first novel, "The Fool's Run", followed almost simultaneously by "Rules of Prey", the first novel in his popular Prey series, featuring policeman Lucas Davenport. Often revolving around a disturbing crime or demented criminal, the majority of Sandford's novels are psychological thrillers with tough characters and fast pacing.
Praise
"A credibly gallant woman on the trail of a notably demented weirdo in a host of after-hours venues--a winning and suspense-filled combination for the ultraprofessional Sanford."
From the Publisher
Annotation Anna Batory roams the streets of Los Angeles with a video crew looking for stories to videotape and sell to news stations for the highest bidder. Needless to say, it doesn't take long before she finds herself knee deep in murder. A high school student commits suicide and the following morning one of her crew members is found savagely murdered. After falling for ex-cop Jake Harper, the dead student's father, Anna teams up with Jake to uncover the murky connection between the crimes.
Editors Note Bestselling author John Sandford takes all the action and suspense of his acclaimed Prey novels and heads west to the dark gleam of L.A.--where the Night Crew works. A mobile unit of video freelancers, they prowl the midnight streets to sell to the highest network bidder. Murders. Robberies. High-speed chases. For them, it is an exhilerating life. But tonight, two deaths will change everything.
