Nora purposely brings home a bad report card just to prove a point about standardized tests. Now she''s got the perfect chance to prove how arbitrary grades are and that they don''t matter nearly as much as everyone seems to think.
Annotation:
Fed up with the pressure put on her by her parents, a gifted fifth grader named Nora Rowley hasn't exactly been playing dumb, but, more accurately, playing average. When Nora attempts to prove a point by getting a very poor report card, she is forced to take an intelligence test, which, much to her dismay, reveals her high IQ. Still, Nora has a point to prove about grading and labeling students, and with the help of her best friend, Stephen, she's determined to make her opinion known.

New York Times Book Review
"Clements, a former teacher, is a proven master at depicting the quirky details of grade school life and the not-so-petty skirmishes that color school politics." - Sandy MacDonald 04/18/2004
