Author Bio
M. Scott Peck
M. (Morgan) Scott Peck, son of a lawyer, has a B.A. from Harvard (cum laude, 1958) and an M.D. degree from Case Western Reserve (1963). After serving as a doctor in the U.S. Army, he opened a private psychiatric practice. In 1978, his book THE ROAD LESS TRAVELED was published and, over the next few years, became a mega-seller. In his many books, Peck advocates facing problems with a realistic attitude, using psychotherapy as a way to achieve the self-knowledge necessary to live life fully. One of his frequently quoted maxims is: "Once we truly know that life is difficult--once we truly understand and accept it--then life is no longer difficult."
