| On the heels of her phenomenally successful Sisterhood books, #1 "New York Times"-bestselling author Michaels introduces a new series, featuring a group of women that is about to get a whole new lease on life. |
|
From the Publisher:
When the gossip newspaper where her daughter works is in danger of closing down because of the owner's gambling debts, Teresa "Toots" Loudenberry calls on three trusted friends to help her pull some strings to keep her daughter employed among Hollywood'selite. |
Annotation:
Fern Michaels begins her Godmother series with this raucous cross-country tale of a wealthy Southern widow who invades Hollywood. After putting her eighth husband in the ground, Teresa "Toots" Amelia Loudenberry is in need of a life-affirming adventure, so she collects her three best friends and heads for the left coast, with a plan to buy the tabloid newspaper where her daughter works. But when the seedy owner of the paper disappears with her down payment, "Toots" and company have no choice but to track him down and subject him to their unique brand of southern Justice.

Author Bio
Fern Michaels
Fern Michaels grew up in Hastings, Pennsylvania, got married, and had five children before she picked up a pen to begin writing what would turn out be one best-selling romance after another. One of the most consistent bestselling romance writers of the '80s and '90s, Michaels writes mostly steamy historical romances with heavy doses of passion, seduction, and torrid adultery. Divorced from her first husband, she dedicates much of her time to philanthropic concerns, having set up the Fern Michaels Foundation, which grants scholarships to students in need. She also set up affordable pre-school and day-care centers for struggling single mothers.
