Riders on the train hear the whistle sounding, the conductor calling, and the gates at the crossing dinging in this tribute to "The Wheels on the Bus."
Richard Egielski attended the High School of Art and Design and later studied at both the Pratt Institute and Parsons. He was encouraged to enter the field of children's book illustration by author/illustrator Maurice Sendak, one of his instructors at Parsons. He is well known for his illustrations for books by Arthur Yorinks, one of which--HEY AL--won the Caldecott Medal in 1987. Egielski has also illustrated the works of such authors as Pam Conrad.
