Quality cooling pad 9/17/2010
My computer can be on for hours and I don't feel heat emanating through the keyboard. It works wonderfully and its good for the environment.

It's easy to set up, but the laptop still gets hot. I really didn't notice much difference with chill pad. I didn't want a fan.
Flexible laptop chilling pad 5/27/2010
Item works great, folds up and fits easily in laptop case. Great size fits my wife's 17 inch laptop perfectly.
Does nothing to keep laptop cool 5/14/2010
While the mat does keep my legs a bit cooler, it does nothing to keep my laptop cool. I really wish I had bought a regular laptop fan system like I was going to.
The pad actually covers up the intake fan since you sit the laptop on top of the pad. This makes the laptop actually run a couple of degrees warmer. I suppose if you have a laptop with a rear or side intake/exhaust fan this would not be an issue, but since my intake is on the bottom...this pad is worthless for me.
Excellent Laptop Cooling Technology. BUY ONE! 5/10/2010
This is, very simply, an amazing product.
This 1/2" thick black cordura pad is made from a remarkable crystalline chemical compound that wicks heat away from any surface it comes in contact with. Set your laptop on it and it cools your laptop without draining your batteries, requiring cords or plugs, and makes no noise whatsoever, as it has no moving parts.
I bought it just to see how well it worked and I was immediately impressed when I took it out of the packaging and it was COOL TO THE TOUCH.
One of my computers is a 17" MacBook Pro and it runs pretty hot. It's uncomfortable to have on your lap for any length of time as a result. Well, In the immortal words of Jacques Clouseau: "Not any more!" What a great product. These guys should make motorcycle seats. Seriously.
As we all (should) know, heat is the enemy of computers. You want your computer (especially laptops) to stay cool - not HOT. Heat buildup is frequently the cause of premature failures and loss of data. If you can keep your computer cooler, it will have a longer life - and so will your data.
I highly recommend this product. Check it out.
Good cooling 5/18/2009
I am not sure how well a unit with a fan works, but the heatpad does seem to help with cooling the computer. It is nice and flat so stores easily in my carry case. It is still a bit hot to hold the laptop in your lap (the point of a "lap"top). I do like the quiet and not having something else drain my battery faster. I think it was worth the money. I would buy this again over a fan driven unit.
ThermaPak HS 17A Heat Shift Cooling Pad 4/8/2009
I bought this pad in contrast with the thought of no motor running, which is conducive for my youngest son, whose in College. Well it's doing a fine job. My son loves it. It keeps the notebook cool by disipating the heat that is generated by the notebook. Most of all "it's quiet", so in a quiet classroom setting, there's absolutely no disturbance of his fellow students. This is a novel idea, I and my son like it a lot, great job.
