Every second counts. Every detail matters. Every 3-11 p.m. third watch shift brings a rush of risk, fear and lives in the balance. From John Wells (ER, The West Wing) and Edward Allen Bernero (Criminal Minds) comes this action-packed drama about the brave and dedicated people who serve as police, paramedics and firefighters. For them, keeping the streets safe and answering cries for help is all in a day's work.

The 22-episode Emmy Award-winning Third Watch rolls out in a deluxe 6-disc set capturing all the highly kinetic, highly praised moments from its debut season. Hit the streets with these professional rescuers - and experience day-in/day-out heroism at its most exciting and intense.

" action-packed drama series that...[is] quite engaging...  Stefan Hedmark, The MovieHamlet

Editor's Note
Standing vigil over New York on the 3 to 11 P.M. shift is the city's "third watch" of emergency personnel. Stationed in a firehouse at the intersection of King and Arthur streets (nicknamed "Camelot") these paramedics and firefighters often join forces with the police at the nearby precinct house in their mission to keep the city safe. Among them are rookie cop Tyrone Davis (Coby Bell), complicated paramedic Kim Zambrano (Kim Raver), and vain firefighter Jimmy Doherty (Eddie Cibrian). As the team responds to gang shootings, tenement fires, and medical traumas, the show's rich cast of characters displays all the camaraderie, tension, and fledgling romance that comes from battling high-pressure situations in close quarters. It's all in a day's work for this team of courageous, flawed, and dedicated individuals. This collection presents all 22 episodes of the series' action-packed first season.

Professional Reviews

The MovieHamlet 9 of 10
Here's an action-packed drama series that never became one of the greatest, but still knew how to pack a punch. For six years we followed the cops, paramedics and firefighters who worked the same hours, the "third watch", in New York; somehow, the most spectacular crimes and accidents would take place in those hours. The action sequences were well made and the show stayed credible up until the final season when violence became more important than the scripts. The actors and their characters were quite engaging, particularly the cops. No one was allowed to become the "star"; this was a good, believable ensemble performance. The writers knew how to handle the crises they created for their characters; that came to great use in those episodes that covered 9/11. - Stefan Hedmark
