From the Publisher:
In a tale of adventure and suspense, Chris, just wanting to be a normal kid, discovers that he is turning into a vampire and struggles to find a way to save himself from this horrible fate, but as he looks for help, he finds that there are few places to turn. An ALA Quick Pick. Reissue."Entertaining, disturbing, memorable, and sophisticated, this mortality tale will continue to haunt after the last pages are turned." — SCHOOL LIBRARY JOURNAL All Chris really wants is to be a normal kid, to hang out with his friends, avoid his parents, and get a date with Rebecca Schwartz. Unfortunately, Chris appears to be turning into a vampire. So while his hometown performs an ancient ritual that keeps Tch’muchgar, the Vampire Lord, locked in another world, Chris desperately tries to save himself from his own vampiric fate. He needs help, but whom can he trust? A savagely funny tale of terror, teen angst, suspense, and satire from National Book Award winner M. T. Anderson. |
Annotation:
Teenager Chris has enough problems--his parents are always bickering, his older brother is a pain, and his best friend seems to be drifting away. However, all of those issues pale in comparison to the news Chris has just received--he's destined to become a vampire, one with an unquenchable thirst for human blood. Will Chris be able to resist his bloodthirsty tendencies or will he embrace life as a blood sucker?
