| Every season on the Island of Sodor brings new opportunities for adventure, challenge, and discovery. Proving that there's never a dull moment for Thomas and the engines on Sir Topham Hatt's Railway, the seven stories on It's Great to be an Engine! are: Too Hot for Thomas, Emily's Adventure, Gordon Takes Charge, Edward the Great, James Goes Too Far, Percy and the Magic Carpet, and You Can Do It, Toby. Children will find out the answers to these questions, and more: Will Emily have to change her attitude in order to save Farmer McColl's calves? Will Toby muster enough confidence to push haughty Gordon up a hill? And, will James learn that it's better to be useful than important? Brilliantly brought to life using the latest digital technology, It's Great to be an Engine! delivers a train-load of fun that imparts timeless lessons about friendship, respect and perseverance. |

Editor's Note
The wildly popular THOMAS THE TANK ENGINE is based on a series of books created in 1945 by Reverend Wilbert Vere Awdry to amuse his son Christopher when he was ill; Christopher later grew up to take over authorship of the series. The charming tales describe the adventures of Thomas and his friends, who live and work on the railway on the Island of Sodor. This collection features seven delightful stories, including "Too Hot for Thomas," where our hero would much prefer to be taking children to the beach instead of delivering ingredients to the ice cream factory; luckily, everyone gets a pleasant surprise! "Edward the Great" is a retelling of the classic story of the tortoise and the hare, while Percy is convinced that he's found a real treasure in "Percy & the Flying Carpet!" James learns the importance of helping others in "James Goes Too Far, and Emily gets taught a similar lesson in "Emily's Adventure" when she finds herself in need of a hand. Other episodes included are "You Can Do It Toby," "Gordon Takes Charge," and "James Goes Too Far."
