Gerry Anderson's original cult classic.
Disaster strikes. Innocent lives hang by a thread. Rescue seems impossible! Until... "Tell them we're on our way. It's action stations! Thunderbirds are go!" Thunderbird 1 streaks into action at 15,000 mph. Thunderbird 2, close behind, delivers the world's most advanced rescue technology. International Rescue--the super secret organization founded by millionaire ex-astronaut Jeff Tracy and his sons--will never give up at any cost! Welcome to Thunderbirds, Producer Gerry Anderson's (Stingray, Captain Scarlet, Fireball XL5, UFO and Space: 1999) legendary masterpiece. Filmed, of course, in Supermarionation! It chronicles the thrilling adventures of the Tracy family of intrepid astronauts, along with their fearless compatriots Lady Penelope, Parker, Kyrano and Tin Tin. The F.A.B.--ulous episodes in this 2 DVD set are the first six ever aired: Trapped In The Sky, Pit Of Peril, City Of Fire, Sunprobe, The Uninvited and The Mighty Atom.
Editor's Note
Gerry Anderson's cult sci-fi series brought "super-marionation" into the forefront. The story follows Jeff Tracy (voiced by Peter Dyneley of MANSTER) and his sons--the eponymous Thunderbirds--as they fly around in their multimillion dollar spaceship, answering calls of distress throughout the galaxy in the name of International Rescue.

"Trapped in the Sky" - The Thunderbirds attempt to disarm a bomb aboard a jet in midair, all the while being monitored by the sinister Hood.

"Pit of Peril" - "The Sidewinder", an innovative Army troop transport, goes south on its first test mission - literally. Trapped below the earth, the transport's crew wait breathlessly to be rescued by the Thunderbirds.

"City of Fire" - A family is trapped in a blazing shopping mall. Can the Thunderbirds get to their aide fast enough?

"Sunprobe" - The Thunderbirds have to intervene when a derelict ship begins heading directly for the sun (and not get burned in the process).

"The Uninvited" - The pyramid-dwelling Zombites apprehend Scott (voiced by Shane Rimmer) when he crashes in the desert. It's up to him to blind the creatures and escape.

"The Mighty Atom" - The Hood gets his diabolical hands on a robotic, photo-taking rat and attempts to use it against the Thunderbirds. Little does he know what the film will show when it's actually developed!
