Tablet with best I/O12/11/2013
The Thrive has the best I/O of any tablet so far. Full size HDMI output, full size SDHC storage, full size USB port. In addition it is the only tablet with user replaceable battery. As with most Android menu systems -until you learn the weird illogical/stupid interface you will be cursing Google Andoid programmers. For example when you want to move a file, you must first copy and then go back and delete. What stupidity ! Be sure to turn off WiFi and GPS, otherwise even when the unit is turned OFF, it will eat through your battery charge. Another stupidity, in my opinion. The sensor for tablet orientation will often be slow to respond to changing from portrait to landscape orientation. Overall and in spite of these negatives, the unit updates the OS reliably, and works well. If the price is right this is a very good tablet (Netflix looks great on it), although heavier than any I have ever handled.
I purchased a Thrive for my mom a year ago and she loved it so much that I bought another one for my dad. It's been a good product for the price. It's a little bulky, but the extras you get on it are worth it.
Toshiba Excites are known for it.
Great seller, Great product10/12/2012
Arrived on time as promised. Great product in like new condition. I would recommend this seller.
It comes with ICS adroid 4.0. If it doesnt come with 4.0, you can update the software easily by yourself. The tablet is a bit relatively bulky compare to other tablets.
Love my Toshiba Thrive Tablet9/20/2012
Toshiba has done an excellent job on their Thrive tablet and it works like a charm. And the best news less than half the price of an iPad.
I like it so much I bought 2 of them .
Oh my, YES!8/30/2012
I love this thing! Going to use it for college. Goodbye notebook, hello Thrive. Very satisfied, especially after upgrading to ICS. Bootloader is locked, so do some research before upgrading OTA.
Love my thrive.8/30/2012
This refurbished Thrive looks and works like new. Just as good as an IPad but much more affordable.
The tablet is OK5/17/2012
The interface is flawless & smooth, saved photos look really good (even when zoomed in), wireless connection excellent (no connection issues). So far my battery life has been 6hrs.
A Great tablet for the price12/16/2011
Has worked great out of the box. Would recommend to anyone the 10.1 inch screen is huge. Bought the 16 gig but the app storage is only 3.0 gig not sure but i believe this is a limit of google os. The other space can be used for movies and pictures, music etc.
imho, best tablet avaiable!7/18/2011
I ordered from buy.com because they have a 45-day return policy for products such as this, when a competitor website was offering a free case cover with purchase, but had 0-day return policy. Realizing I had zero experience with the toshiba thrive prior to purcashing, I had to go with buy.com with free shipping + no tax. On with the product itself.. The Toshiba Thrive is a TERRIFIC product, and in my honest opinion, the best tablet in the market. With the replaceable battery, the fullsized hdmi port, sd card access, mini usb port, and full sized usb port, this product has the most ports and customizations of any tablet in the industry. The weight is something I actually LIKE. It has a feel that it's well built and not made from a cheap plastic. I am a huge fan of the android operating system -- and using the honeycomb system takes a few uses before you feel that you are a master at what you're dealing with. Compared to the iOS, I love the ability for flash and customization. And to me, the iOS is childish, somewhat fisher price-like, while the android-honeycomb-system is more of a grown-up refined operation system. Overall, the Thrive is basically a tablet with a laptop mentality, having all the ports that would come from any laptop on the market right now, and that no other TABLET offers. I chose this over tablets such as the samsung tab b/c of the ports and over the xoom because of the FULL hdmi and better quality picture. Looking back at it, I wouldn't have regretted going with the buy.com competitor and got the free accessory, because this is easily the best purchase I've made in a long time, and I've no need for buy.com's 45-day return policy. The Toshiba Thrive is definitely a keeper.
