Boris von der Borch is a mean, greedy old pirate--tough as nails, like all pirates. Or is he? When a young boy sneaks onto Boris's ship, he discovers that the pirates aren't quite what he expected. Praise
New York Times Book Review
"The chief appeal of 'Tough Borris' is hidden in the many tales it does NOT tell. Its real plot is in the pictures and in the minds of young readers, who will want to soak up every detail. Resisting the temptation to reveal everything, author and illustrator instead give imaginative children something much better--a picture book that luxuriates in pure possibility." - Patricia T. O'Conner 09/11/1994
