Customer Reviews of TRENDnet TEW-639GR 300Mbps Wireless N Gigabit Router
A good value - especially on sale5/26/2013
Delivered promptly, Setup was quick & easy. Thought I haven't stressed it, the network speed seems much better than my old router. Of course, "n" should be faster than"g"... :) I'd recommend it to a friend...
Good. Prompt Delivery.5/6/2013

Excellent router at a fantastic price3/13/2013
Out of the box and set up in less than 10 minutes--and it's extremely fast! Sleek design and a great value for a Wireless-N and Gigabit router.
Worst router ever seen9/5/2012
In a day I have to nearly restart my router around 10 - 20 times to get enough network the signal keep going up and down and I barely get the 2 MBPS speed although I had 30 MBPS plan. Please think and do more research before buy this router my overall experience with this router product was bad.
Great Powerful Reliable Router.4/18/2012
First things first, you must upgrade the firmware on most routers, this one included. I have used many of these routers with ZERO issues! Great range and reliability. Just make sure you upgrade the Firmware.
A Bad and Unlucky Buy3/13/2012
The wireless does not work! The speed is less than 1 Mbps, making it almost useless. Should consult others before buying it, which everyone says is not a good name brand. Too bad didn't open it until 2 months later, so can't return.
Should have listened to the negative reviews. This unit drops connections constantly and has to be restarted several times a day. Never could get the security functioning. This is the third wireless router I have owned and the most difficult to configure. Dlink and Linksys were far more user friendly and reliable.
Don't buy this router12/24/2011
Terrible router. I wanted to upgrade from a Belkin G router to an N router. Bought this Trendnet because of the price. This router is completely unreliable. Mainly, the router's DHCP IP address assignment function did not work reliably for wireless devices. The connection kept dropping, and when I tried to reconnect, the router was unable to assign an IP address. I had to reboot the router numerous times to get it to reconnect. I wasted many late nights to get it to work, and finally gave up and returned the product.
Best Wireless Router Yet !10/14/2011
Very easy to use, plug and play, i have my desktop and ps3 and 3 laptops connected to this wireless router and it runs perfect. love the wifi switch on the back, couldnt ask for a better router
This router is awesome, all I did is was plug and play! I didn't use any software at all,not even updates. My Son had a problem with the other router (SMC7004VBR),trying too connect the PS3.With this router it connected instantly. My son is happy, and I'm happy because I have the option to use wired or wireless.
easy enough. However, performance was less than marginal. I had absolutely no problem w/ signal strength/reception. But once a host was connected there was just no activity. And when there was even some activity (say, watching Netflix), other hosts could no longer communicate w/ the router. I tried the same configuration on the second router w/ the same results. I even tried upgrading the firmware to the latest, with no help. After a few days of getting nowhere, I switched back to my Apple AirPort Extreme Basestation for my main AP and my Apple AirPort Express Basestation for my relay AP and all is well. The only good thing I can say about this router is that it has great reception from great distances.
Just plain doesn't work1/11/2011
I bought two of these, with the intention of using them in a WDS configuration. I configured the first one as the main base station. Configuration was easy enough. However, performance was less than marginal. I had no problem w/ signal strength/reception. But once a host was connected there was just no activity. And when there was even some activity (say, watching Netflix), other hosts could no longer communicate w/ the router. I tried the same configuration on the second router w/ the same results. You get what you pay for12/21/2010
It was easy to setup and lasted for a short period of time. This thing kept dropping left and right. I had to unplug the power like every hour. It worked great when it was working. Went with a higher end Netgear, couldn't be happier.
works great ,I have a router 639gr ,three repeaters belkin and dlink, two 5 port switches s50g,three printers ,7 computers ,blue ray disk streaming video player all work through the 639gr . no problems . Easy setup secure wireless or MAC ...It works with my repeater 2 thousand feet away !... and its fast.
Great router needs print servr though10/20/2010
Love it. but could use feature to hook a printer to it.
Longtime user of TRENDnet products. I am well pleased with all. This one could have better internal editing capabilities (NetGear's is better). Great through-put & Wireless range is good, (both better than NetGear RangeMax). The Gigabit was needed because of NAS. My LAN is connected to the WEB via COX Cable & has 3 DeskTops, the NAS & 2 printers on wired drops & 1 DeskTop on Wireless plus occasional LapTops.
I love this router. This is my first wireless router I've owned and we bought it shortly after getting a new laptop. It was a great price and has worked wonderfully. The instructions are advanced and not very user-friendly for router novices like myself - I wasn't sure how to set up the security settings, but a quick phone call to tech support solved the problem. I haven't had to reset this router a single time since purchasing it and setting it up in January (7 months ago). I highly recommend this router.
Great router for the price8/26/2010
If you're looking for a basic no-frills, low-priced N router that's easy to install and reliable, I highly recommend this one. I've had mine for almost six months now and have encountered no issues with it so far -- it works great. A good deal for the money.
The Trendnet router was simple to install - plugged in the appropriate cables and powered up - worked with no difficulty. The signal covers my home with no problem.
So far so good1/18/2010
This unit is easy to set up. But documentation of some the advance features is only available online. I have a NAS drive, a desktop, a wireless laptop and wireless media player connected. I have yet challenge the range of 802.11n, but I do get 5 bars at basement even thought the unit is on 2nd floor.
