Customer Reviews of Tripp Lite Component Video with Stereo Audio over Cat5 Extender Kit
I have these hooked up to my DirecTV DVR. The CAT5 cable goes from the DVR down to my utility room to a junction box. At that point, I used a CAT5 coupler to tie two rooms together. Then at each end I put the B136-101 devices. One is on the DVR. The other connects to an Onkyo receiver which then connects to an InFocus projector. I can now watch my DirecTV on my other projector without having to pay for an additional TV. Of course, I can't watch something different than is on the main TV. But, in my case that is not a problem. Since DirecTV charges $6/month for additional TVs, this will pay for itself in about 10 months. Beyond that, it's a savings. In addition, I have a Logitech Harmony remote that using RF, not just infrared. So I can also control my DVR from my other room. It's just as easy to watch all my DirecTV content from the second room as it is the primary room.
