Customer Reviews of Tripp Lite USB to PS/2 Adapter - Type A Male USB
Didn't work for me8/27/2008
I've got a Starview SV411 KVM switch that I've been using for years with various pc's. This adapter cable doesn't work with my KVM. It's something between the KVM and the adapter cable -> the cable works fine with the mouse/keyb directly attached. Just a warning though -> this isn't compatible with all KVMs. Also, don't expect any help from Tripp Lite. I called them and they tried to tell me that the adapter wasn't supposed to be used for what I was trying to use it for. They said it was a "USB to PS2" adapter, not a "PS2 to USB adapter." This was the 2nd time that I've ever called Tripp Lite. The last time was over a UPS and I got similar poor support.

Not a problem, plug and play
Tripp Lite has it!12/29/2006
A very good adapter. It works like a clock. I'm using the one I bought with a KVM switch and there was not need to install drivers. PC recognized right away and it was like been working having keyboard and mouse directly connected to the pc.
Easy and it works!10/12/2006
Just plug in your keyboard and mouse into the color-coded jacks and plug the single USB plug into the computer and it works. I didn't even have to reboot. Less expensive then other similar adapters. You don't have to destroy the packaging to open it either. Nice touch!

At one of my clients, the KVM switch only accepts PS2 connections. However, all new Dell workstations are arriving with only USB connections for mouse and keyboard. This product quickly allows connection of these new systems to the KVM for initial set-up. However, a reboot is required to fully recogize the mouse and keyboard through the adaptor.
