In the four years since The Crystal Method released its debut album, Vegas, the members of the L.A. electronic music duo have barely had a moment to come up for air. Scott Kirkland and Ken Jordan spent time on the road headlining and joining the line-ups of some seriously eclectic tours (Family Values, Community Service, The Electric Highway), playing to everyone from baggy-shorts wearing kids in Midwestern warehouses to influential fashion designers at a Versace show in Milan. Their music appeared on major motion picture soundtracks (Spawn, South Park, Lost In Space) and video game scores (Nitrous Oxide) while Vegas rapidly became a worldwide best seller. But the group spent most of its time plotting, conceptualizing and recording their new album with the result of their efforts being Tweekend. The basss-fortified, hard-rolling techno concoctions will get the club kids moving, while the muscular hip-hop beats and fluid, funk melodies have been beefed up with an array of loud-and-soft rock dynamics. With help from friends Scott Weiland (Stone Temple Pilots), Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine), DJ Swamp (Beck) and Jon Brion (Fiona Apple, Aimee Mann), the much anticipated Tweekend will surely prove to be worth the wait.

	Five years after the Las Vegas duo's debut VEGAS, the Crystal Method's sophomore release comes complete with a guest appearance by Stone Temple Pilots' Scott Weiland. The duo's sample-heavy blend of Chemical Brothers-like hip-hop and electro-rock is immediately evident on tracks such as the smoking "Roll it Up" and "The Winner," and should provide the soundtrack to a plethora of parties across the country for the foreseeable future.
	The mood changes somewhat with the mysterious "Ten Miles Back," but the overall feel of skittering sound effects, big beat drums, and dreamy vocals remains a constant throughout. And if the duo conjures occasional early-'80s memories of Herbie Hancock's "Rockit" and Jan Hammer's "Miami Vice" theme, well, that just adds to the fun.
