Author Bio
Jon Scieszka
Jon Scieszka attended Albion College and received a master's degree from the writing program at Columbia University. Before becoming a full-time writer, Scieszka worked as an elementary school teacher. He is well known for his collaborations with illustrator Lane Smith, which have resulted in such titles as THE TRUE STORY OF THE THREE LITTLE PIGS, MATH CURSE and the "Time Warp Trio" series. The pair's THE STINKY CHEESE MAN AND OTHER FAIRLY STUPID TALES was named a Caldecott Honor Book in 1993. Scieszka was anointed the first National Ambassador for Young People's Literature in 2008.Author and illustrator David Shannon holds a B.F.A. from the Art Center College of Design. He has illustrated the works of such authors as Isaac Asimov, Robert D. San Souci, and Jane Yolen. One of Shannon's most popular works is one he both wrote and illustrated--the picture book NO, DAVID. This book was inspired by events from his own rambunctious childhood; in fact, he wrote what was to be the first draft of this book when he was still a child--the text consisting solely of the two words he knew how to spell at the time: "no" and "David."
