28 Beers. 6 Students. 1 Assignment.
|The Utopian Society is the story of six college students from different backgrounds, who are assigned to work together on a final project. These six students have so far spent no time together, can't stand each other and must pass this final assignment in order to pass the class. The assignment is to create a utopian society, on paper. They've had all semester to work on the project but in the tradition of most college group assignments, have opted to wait until the last minute to cram the entire semester's work into one night.|
Editor's NoteSix college students must get beyond bickering and frivolous flirting if they want to succeed at the task of writing a paper on the topic of what makes a utopian society. A small-scale but interesting feature, UTOPIAN SOCIETY manages to explore issues such as stereotyping, gender relations, and troubled pasts in an entertaining format reminiscent of the classic brat pack flick THE BREAKFAST CLUB.
