This volume of Vampire Knight finds Yuki and Aido in quite the jam. As they continue on Yuki's mission, the pair find themselves in bad straits, and Aido - trusting in Zero's common decency when the Hunter renders assistance - allows Yuki to be taken to Hunter headquarters for aid in spite of his personal discomfort. Miserable and realizing that she's overreached herself, Yuki is rescued by Kaname's familiar and whisked back home - where revelations even more convoluted than those which have come before await when Kaname opens his memories to her, once again turning everything she thought she knew on it's head. Her confidant, on the other hand, isn't so lucky. Aido has honorably kept Zero's secret, warned him about the possible presence of Shizuka at Cross Academy when he could have just tailed him for a while to get the information he wanted, and tried to get Zero to start a dialogue with Yuki again. In short, Zero knows darn well that in spite of the often snarky attitude, Aido is generally a decent guy.
