Great monitor for an older system12/25/2010
Only one thing would make this monitor live up to the Viewsonic name, and that would be the addition of a DVI cable. Use of this kind of monitor would normally be used on a current mainstream system that will support the larger wide-screen format. However, given that it also can display VGA, this still leaves the end user in search of a cable should they wish to use it on a more modern system. If cost savings are more important, then Viewsonic should go the way of the printer and not include any cables. This monitor will NOT work out of the box when attempting to connect to a DVI based system.
Hooked it up to my Dell Alienware and am zooming through my games.. I really got it for DVD's and Movies but the games are so good compared to my XP box and montitor.. I may not get to the DVD's and Movies til next month....
Thing is huge and perfect for what I was looking for, which was a big screen to use for personal and professinal work.
A very nice monitor. One pixel DOA. The internal speakers are nothing to get excited about.
