Customer Reviews of ViewSonic VX2250wm-LED 21.5" LED Backlit Monitor - 10,000,000:1 (DC), 5ms, 1920 x 1080
Great Monitor! This monitor is one of the best on the market and the price is very resonable. The quality of the picture is amazing and it is light weight so it will fit on your desk very easily. Definately will recomend to my friends to purchase. I will probably buy one more for my son to play video games on.
The monitor was very easy to connect to the Mac, which included an adapter - which was a perfect fit! I plugged everything in, then pushed the blue button of the monitor. It turned on and said "no signal" - but as soon as I turned on the little Mini, I immediately got an "apple" in the middle of the screen! (Set up of the Mac, of course, was a breeze - especially with such a nice monitor to do it with!)
I purchased this product to replace a seven year old 14" LCD television that i use on my kitchen countertop. Not only does this up-size my screen size significantly, but it still--just barely--fits between the counter and the upper cabinets while on its standard tabletop pedestal. But this television's location is right next to where I usually park with my notebook computer when I am working at home. This monitor makes it easy for me to extend my Windows desktop onto a 23" second monitor, which is similar to what I have configured in my office. This is great when working with multiple windows, but it is also great if I want to watch an HD movie in full screen on Netflix while working on my computer on the built-in monitor. For having been sold as a reconditioned product, it was indistinguishable from brand new. There were no manuals, but physical condition was perfect, and there are no dead pixels. Picture quality appears very good, and audio quality is perfectly decent for built-in speakers.
Nice monitor with easy setup.
There are two things that keep me from giving five stars. The included base only allows for tilt. There is no rotate and there's no height adjustment. As a result, you will probably need to raid the supply closet and snag a couple reams of printer paper to raise the screen. The other issue I've had is one of my monitors (I bought two) has some irregularity in the backlight at the top corner. There's a row of brighter blobs stretching about one-third of the way across the top edge of the screen. It's almost enough to make me want to return it. Two other minor quibbles are the gloss black frame and base that show every fingerprint and atom of dust, and the huge "LED 1080p" logo on the front. I really don't need to be reminded of its HD capability every time I look at the display. Otherwise, it's amazing that someone can stamp out displays with nearly 6.5 million sub-pixels and have them all work right for so little cost. I haven't noticed any dead or stuck pixels. It's bright, clear, crisp and wonderful to actually look at for hours. The only adjustment I've had to make is to turn down the brightness.
Great monitor when paired with the right video car11/24/2011
I bought this monitor to go with an HP/AMD desktop that included Radeon video. The display at the maximum (recommended) resolution is wonderful. It was my 1st exposure to DVI and wished the unit had an HDMI option. To use the speakers in the monitor requires a 2nd cable. The DVI cable (as well as a VGA cable) is included. I have yet to decipher the onscreen menu operations & I have not found instructions on using it in the paperwork enclosed with the display. Once I learn how to operate this and make some tweaks, the results may be even better.
Very Nice LED/LCD5/19/2011
Simple with very good control. Buy.com as usual did a good job
best led lcd monitor12/28/2010
This monitor was a big improvement over an older LCD monitor. The images are brighter and much clearer. Set-up was very easy. I would recommend this monitor to everyone.
This is a great monitor for every kind of user. Nice video, text, and gaming. The LED makes it very light weight and thin, which is nice. The case is very stylish as well - that's what my wife liked about it!
I got it for my wifes Christmas. However it does not come in a plain marked box view sonic is all over it with a big picture of it. So guess who got it early ! But I must say it's great very nice picture my wife loves it. Speakers have a tin sound to them but she has a nice set of speakers anyway. What more can I say great product great price. Will buy another for myself soon.
I bought 4 of these monitors for 2 computers with dual display and they are stunning. The integrated speakers is always a space-saving plus. Also, they are very slim and make an office look that much more sophisticated. I had only one issue with one of the screens having to do with auto shutoff with a DVI connection. It was pretty annoying, but I found a dumb-as-nails fix online that actually worked. buy buy buy!
Wow! Get one or two if you have dual screens.11/23/2010
I'm using a GeForce GTS 250 video card for dual screens. Setup was very easy. Picture is excellent with no dead pixs and the sound is good. The LED backlight feature is sweet of the eyes and movies filmed in dark locations come in clear with much more detail. I'm a very happy customer and BUY.COM delivered it faster and cheaper then anyone else!
Love the LED technology, runs cool, OK speakers. good looking. Great for the price.
I bought this monitor a few months back and wanted to wait to review it so that I had a good handle on it. This is my first flat screen monitor but I am glad I got this one. The picture is great once you get the setting that you want and it is of course very easy to set up. The size is just right too. I would not want anything bigger than 21.5 inches. The power savings is just an added plus. The speakers aren't great but do work for me.
Awesome LED-LCD monitor9/2/2010
The picture on this VX2250wm-LED monitor is amazing at any resolution. Except that when viewed from a side angle, all of the colors shift and look odd (like blues will look greenish). Viewsonic made my last monitor as well, a 19in CRT monitor. There are no dead or stuck pixels on the one I received. The only complaint that I have is that the builtin speakers (on mine at least) are completely worthless. Even with the volume maxed out on both the PC and the monitor itself, it is so low you need to put your ear next to the back of the monitor to hear it and it still sounds lower than wispering. Perhaps my builtin speakers are shorted out. But connect the same audio cable to my older separate speaker system and the same volume settings will deafen you and wake up the dead. Nonetheless, I dont need or care about speakers builtin to a monitor, so I still love the monitor itself! 1080p is good to have but pointless on a PC I think. You might like widescreen 1080p for a TV to watch but a monitor is for web surfing or playing games that dont utilize 1080p anyhow. Keep the movies and videos on your actual TV.
