|As far back as the 1400's, the waffle has been a dessert or special bread enjoyed by the aristocracy. Early, over-the-flame waffle irons often bore the family's crest as a design. The Belgian Waffle was first introduced to the USA at the 1964 New York World's Fair, about 10 years after frozen waffles were invented. Belgian waffles were a big hit and became a preferred breakfast and brunch treat. Some people even used them to make ice cream sandwiches. Great Waffle Maker5/28/2012
I looked for a waffle maker at several local stores and they were cheaper but it was easy to see that they were made cheaper. The handles and hinges on the $30-$40 ones were flimsy and felt like they would easily break. This one is solid, cooks evenly, waffles don't stick to it, and cleans up easily with the drip pan. We've used it at least every other day for the last two weeks.

This is a Professional Waffle maker! It only does one at a time, but to make multiples costs much more. Well worth the price. Looking forward to many tasty breakfasts thanks to this Great Product.
