From the Publisher:
The biggest surprise at Wayside School is that Mrs. Jewls is going to have a baby. The kids are helping her select names, such as Cootie Face if it's a girl and Bucket Head if it's a boy. But now Mrs. Jewls's class is going to have a substitute teacher. And if you know anything about Wayside School, you'll know that you can expect anything to happen!
Annotation:
More stories about the students at the Wayside School. While Mrs. Jewls is away on maternity leave, the kids in her class must deal with three evil substitute teachers. B&w illustrations accompany the text.
Author Bio
Louis Sachar
Best known for the critically acclaimed HOLES, Louis Sachar was a lawyer before devoting himself to writing children's books full-time. Though he was born in New York, most of his childhood was spent in California, where he attended the University of California at Berkeley after a brief stint at Antioch ended by his father's death. His experiences working as a teacher's aide at a local elementary school inspired the popular Wayside School series. A bridge enthusiast, Sachar lives with his wife, Carla, in Austin, Texas.
