Author Bio
Louis Sachar
Best known for the critically acclaimed HOLES, Louis Sachar was a lawyer before devoting himself to writing children's books full-time. Though he was born in New York, most of his childhood was spent in California, where he attended the University of California at Berkeley after a brief stint at Antioch ended by his father's death. His experiences working as a teacher's aide at a local elementary school inspired the popular Wayside School series. A bridge enthusiast, Sachar lives with his wife, Carla, in Austin, Texas.
