This is a great device to store lots of data. It has nice base structure that allows it to align vertically in the table. The price is not that great. However, it is very easy to use. The only problem is it's weight. It is heavier for a external hard drive. Overall, a good hard drive to use.
Took me at most 10 minutes to set this thing up. Working with it is as simple as with another computer on your home network, you just copy files on it, or you can map your network drive. Getting Time Machine to use this disk is a task of just several seconds. iPhone apps for files in general and a separate one for photos only - they are great, easy to use, very close to native iCloud experience. I believe Android app is just as good. Believe it or not, I have it only for one day so far but feels like it has been here forever and this is definitely a great and efficient way to organize your digital life. 3TB is the version that I have, hope it will serve me for some time. I like it a lot.
Lot of storage capacity, footprint is ok. Easy to setup in Win7 (but not 100% transparent). Can stream audio, video and photos as well.
No need to leave any of my machines running on the network to share files, this product does the job. Easy access by a browser since it is an IP drive.
I have had the my book live for about a week. I called western digital to help be hook it up. It took about ten minutes. I used it just for my music collection on my two computers. I have about 500 cds half on each computer. I used my own programs. Such back up etc. I use the j River music program. It works perfect with my book. I had a few files on my computer. They were also filed in my book. I am no expert with computers.
This is a great USB Hard drive. It is amazingly fast and the installation is a breeze. My Windows system recognized it immediately and I was able to use it in seconds. The shipment was on time and price is pretty good. I would definately recomend this drive to anyone looking for storage.
Plugged into router, went online to install and in 5 minutes I was up and running. My Smart HDTV picked up the hard drive right away on the network and I can access the videos, audio or pictures on it. I installed the w2 Go app on my iPad and can view the files from there as well. The biggest selling point is the ability to access your files from any device through the internet.
