| This is an investigation into the incredible and shocking story of the assassination of the eminent Human Rights lawyer Rosemary Nelson, who was assassinated by a car bomb by Loyalist Paramilitaries in Northern Ireland on March 15th, 1999. In the last ten years, there have been several government inquiries into her murder, and the latest full-scale inquiry has been ongoing since 2005, under the aegis of Colin Port, the Deputy Chief Constable of Norfolk Police. It has also been alleged that there may have been some security service collusion in her murder. Rosemary Nelson had been having an affair with an IRA member and was passing information from the Northern Ireland and British Government onto her lover. This became known in Loyalist circles and she received death threats from the LVF, who it is said ordered her assassination. This is a complex and terrifying story that has never before been told. |
