Product Overview

A tranquil campground in rural France is the background for this erotic sizzler between bored, beautiful teenager Camille (Isild Le Besco) and a down on his luck ex-con, Blaise (Denis Levant, The Lovers on the Bridge, Beau Travail).

Fresh out of prison, Blaise accepts a job as a sailing instructor at a summer camp run by his brother-in-law, Eddie. Haunted by violent nightmares, scorned by the other campers and reminded daily of his estranged wife and children, Blaise tries mightily to resist Camille's charms. But the girl's spontaneity and nubile sexuality awaken Blaise's own repressed capacity for life. It's not long before this off couple forge an erotic liaison that leads to deadly consequences for all concerned.

ReviewSource Variety
Review Slight, somewhat implausible script and a nondescript supporting cast are swept along by the sheer animal magnetism of Isild Le Besco's burgeoning sexuality in Christophe Ali and Nicolas Bonilauri's saga of l'amour fou. Pairing their nubile star with Denis Lavant, whose battered, been-around, plug-ugly intensity provides the perfect foil for Le Besco's pubescent wildness, helmers unleash their powerhouse couple on a small enclave of summer campers...Helmers undoubtedly appreciated what they had in Le Besco's Camille (echoes of Brigette Bardot's namesake role in Godard's "Contempt"), and they certainly make the most of their thespians' assets...Jerome Peyrebrune's slightly grainy super-16mm lensing adding a homemovie immediacy to the scruffy campgrounds, while music by Dan Levy and Nicolas Baby subtly revs up the film's nervous energy.
