Annotation:
With a glitter-encrusted white background serving as snow blanketing the forest, and a staggering array of animals popping out of the pages, Robert Sabuda has created yet another incredible pop-up marvel. All the animals are made of crisp white paper, surrounded by a wintry woodland medley of blues, greens, browns, and even silver and lilac. The book opens with an owl swooping down to investigate some mice. Soon a family of foxes leaves their den as a rabbit jumps from bushes, and a bear fishes for breakfast in a shining silver river. Robert Sabuda is also the creator of many other pop-ups, including ENCYCLOPEDIA PREHISTORICA and ALICE IN WONDERLAND.
Author Bio
Robert Sabuda
Even as a child, pop-up master Robert Sabuda was interested in this difficult art form: his creation of a pop-up WIZARD OF OZ for his mother was the precursor of a wildly successful career. Many years later, Sabuda revisited that project, and in November 2000 he published a bestselling pop-up version of WIZARD OF OZ. Sabuda earned a B.F.A. from the Pratt Institute in 1987, and is best known for his various Christmas pop-ups, as well the opulent, informative Encyclopedia Prehistorica series.

Praise

"Sabuda never overcrowds his spreads, and he sticks to an earthy yet pristine palette including icy white, metallic silver, browns and evergreens. His deftly engineered book celebrates nature, and readers will wow to impressive pop-ups of deer, beavers and a moose." 5/20/2005
