Annotation:
When the dynamic Ms. Mirabel comes to their fourth-grade class to talk about how to write poetry, friends Lucy, Evie, Henry, and Russell are electrified. School was boring before, but Ms. Mirabel is a wonderful teacher. The friends are drawn toward Ms. Mirabel, and are inspired to share their own feelings with each other. Struggling to cope with her mother's ordeal with cancer, Lucy finds poetry a wonderful way to express herself. Patricia MacLachlan is the author of the classic SARAH, PLAIN AND TALL.
