Do not buy2/8/2008
Unit runs hot & mine failed after 5 months of low usage even with a UPS. This website must sell sub par products because this is the second item I have purchased from them that has failed the other was three of the mini RC helocopters & all failed right out of the box.
NEED COOLING FOR THE CARD11/27/2007
I WAS HAPPY TO SEE THIS CARD BUY MY DOOR. WHEN I GOT IT OPEN, I LOOKED AT MY OLD GEFORCE XFX 6800XT XXX XTREM AND IT LOOK JUST THE SAME, EVERY LAST THING WAS THE SAME. BUT WHEN I POP THE HOOD ON THIS BAD BOY THAT WHEN THINGS LOOK DIFF. THE ONLY THING THIS PUPPY NEEDS IN SOME GOOD COOLING. I PLAYED CRYSIS BEFORE ON LOW TEXT,LOW SHARDERS ,LOW RES. ON THE 7900GS THIS THING ON MIN TO HIGH. 1024X 768 RES BUT HECK MY DLP 100" PROJECTOR ONLY GOES THAT HIGH.THIS IS SWEET,THE ONLY THING STAYED ON LOW WAS THE POST PROCESS I ONLY HAVE A SOCKET 478 3G OVER CLOCK TO 3.3GHZ/HT AND CRYSIS WILL SUCK THE LIFE OUT OF IT. BUT WITH OVER CLOCKING TO 625/1500MHZ IT WILL STAR AROUND 25 TO 35FPS.AND IF U WANTS SOME EGGS JUST THOU SOME ON. I TOOK MY PRINTER POWER SUPPLY AND HOOK IT UP TO THE FAN.15 VOLTS COOL THAT THINGS DOWN TO 55C.U CAN'T FIND VGA COOLERS, DON'T TRY YOU WILL VOID THE THING. GOOD CARD KEEP IT COOL. PICE
AGP is Alive!9/25/2007
This is my first XFX product, and it's excellent. It's got a double lifetime warranty. I purchased the card one month ago, and I haven't had any problems so far. I upgraded from an MSI 6600GT, and the difference is amazing. The performance at least doubled. I'm running the card on a Pentium 4 HT 3.2GHz (Prescott) with 2GB of OCZ value ram. The installation process was simple. When idle it runs at a stable 49 degrees C, and rises to 70 degrees C when running graphic intensive games. I have yet to overclock this card. I have a 24 inch Dell monitor, and the 7900GS runs every game at 1600x1200 with pretty good frames. Overall, I'm hoping the 7900GS will allow me to go for another year without upgrading to PCI-E. If you want to keep your AGP for longer, consider the XFX 7950GT for an additional $100.
Fastest AGP Card8/27/2007
I was looking for the fastest AGP card I could get to keep my system playing the newer games for as long as possible, and this was it. It is considerably faster than the 6600GT that I had before. I'm very happy with this card.
Well priced perfomance for an older PC8/6/2007
This card was a visible step up from the Nvidia 6800 I had in the machine before. The only problem I encountered was that the card rewuired a full reinstall of Windows, because something about the settings of the new card vs the old card caused my computer to constantly reboot, even though they are both supposed to use the exact same driver setup. Other than that, a wonderful card with great performance for the money.
