|Passively cooled cards are great for quiet system but typically, passive cooling means lower performance to get the GPU to run cool enough. XFX has been using their cool passive cooling system on some overclocked graphics cards with pretty good performance and the most recent of these cards in the passive cooled, Fatal1ty line is the 8600GT Fatal1ty. Read on to find out how well this card performs....read the full review|
the card is easy to install and runs the new games like cod4 smoothly and can run older game, like gw, at highest settings with less lag than my old 6150 LE integrated.
Decent Video Card10/18/2007
Did some basic research before dropping the dime on this card. I've had it for one week and what a difference this makes in Vista for Media Center purposes. Also for playing back High Def! Also this makes video response for my 360 Media Extender that much better. Things are some much snappier now.
I like it a lot8/7/2007
I bought an XFX motherboard, so I thought, "why not go with an XFX graphics card?". It's the best decision I could have made. Both are SLI and work together very well. the card comes with a fan which is very easy to install, and I would recommend using it to keep the card cool.
Great 8600 GT card7/22/2007
I got this card cause I got enough fans and noise in my system. I thought at $160, it would be cheaper then getting a standard 8600 GT and putting an aftermarket silent cooler. Overall I am very happy with the quality and performance. Even when stressing the card with some intnense Quake combat - it works great. I like that it comes with a good factory overclock. It dose heat-up, but the trick to that is good case circulation, which I have, so it is not problem. I heard about Fatal1ty, and I think it is great that he got XFX to make him an affordable and fast entry level gamer card. Based On this card, I would buy more Fatal1ty products and XFX.
HEAT HEAT HEAT7/9/2007
This product is extremely good for the price. The other problem with it is that is gets HOT. Disregard what it says about not needing a fan because it DOES. I bought an extra 92mm fan for my case and it still gets hot. Im going to buy a fan for the actual card itself. Graphics are amazing. I am running Rainbow Six Vegas with all high to very high settings with Dual AMD Athlon 64 2.2Ghz processors, 2GB DDR2, and with this 8600 GT of course. Other than it getting HOT and having lag from time to time when it does get hot this card is GREAT! Definite buy.
