In the 11th installment of the bestselling Regan Reilly mystery series, married detectives Regan and Jack Reilly have just purchased a new apartment when the New York blackout of 2003 strikes, plunging the city into darkness and creating the perfect cover for a series of crimes: the theft of precious art glass from a SoHo gallery, the disappearance of a woman dead set on revenge, and some desperate attempts to get into a safe that's secretly hidden inside the walls of the Reillys' new home.
Author Bio
Carol Higgins Clark
Carol Higgins Clark is the author of an immensely popular mystery series featuring private eye Regan Reilly, whose backstory includes a mother who is a famed writer. That detail is drawn from real life; Carol ?s mother is Mary Higgins Clark, the beloved author of dozens of best-selling thrillers. Carol, one of five children, was born in New York City and raised in New Jersey. While still a student at Mt. Holyoke College, she often helped her mother, who had been widowed in 1964, by typing her manuscripts and making minor edits to them. After studying acting at the Beverly Hills Playhouse and appearing in a handful of plays and films--among them a television movie based on her mother's book A CRY IN THE NIGHT--Carol decided to try her own hand at writing. The first Regan Reilly book, DECKED, was published in 1992 and was nominated for both Anthony and Agatha awards. The Regan Reilly books have since been widely praised for their humor. A reviewer once remarked, "Mary Higgins Clark goes for the jugular; Carol Higgins Clark goes for the funny bone." In addition to that series, Carol has collaborated with Mary on several holiday-themed thrillers.
