Customer Reviews of Ben Sherman Canvas Laptop Messenger
Looks good but lasted only a year2/2/2012
Got lots of compliments on this bag but it lasted only a year, just beyond the year mark of most warranties. The strap keeps loosening as some other reviews mentioned and the two front magnetic buttons ripped off. It wasn't that expensive but was hoping I could get at least a couple of years out of it.
Good Overall - But some things to consider...12/11/2011
Overall - this is a sturdy, good looking bag. However, a few points... If you have one of the larger laptops with the 17.1" Screen (diagonal) - it will NOT fit in the padded compartment intended for the laptop. It's literally about 1/2" too small - and being nylon there is no give, it was very disappointing. The bag is well constructed so taking that apart to accommodate it wasn't an option either... It will fit in the big pocket, however - it's just not cushioned. Secondly, where the strap attaches to the bag, they should swivel, but they are rectangle/odd shaped... and it gets twisted.
Bought this bag for my 12 year old son. His 3 ring binder and organizer fit in very well, and it was very comfortable over the shoulder. The strap has a pad and that helps alot. the bag is large enough to fit a 16 inch screen laptop. It also has 2 front pockets for cellphone or AC power cord. The disadvantage is that it is made of canvas and so it is not water resistant.
holds its form though its canvas9/15/2010
I was concerned that this bag would not hold its form with a book, binder, and laptop, however it's managed to hold up and maintain its style. A handle would have been useful, however I guess that would alter the look. Overall, the pictures on the site are what you can expect to receive.
