|For more than 20 years, users have relied on Kingston Technology to help them save millions by extending the life of existing computers with memory upgrades. Now Kingston® introduces its second-generation SSDNow V Series drive to help organizations of all sizes and consumers enhance the performance of computers with a Serial ATA (SATA) interface and thus extend their lifecycle.
Adding a solid-state drive to a desktop already using a standard hard disk drive is a smart and efficient way to upgrade. Transferring the operating system and applications from the HDD to the SSD allows the solidstate drive to be used as a bootable drive that takes full advantage of the speed of the Flash-based technology. The SSD and the HDD then co-exist to drive optimal performance in the upgraded desktop.
For notebooks, SSDNow drives are a perfect replacement for hard drives, resulting in faster, more reliable performance. Making this change will improve a notebook’s efficiency in a wide range of tasks, from booting up to running the most robust operating system and demanding applications.
SSDNow uses a standard SATA interface but, unlike a regular HDD, SSD is very rugged and built with no moving parts, making it ideal for power users and road warriors who push the limits of their notebooks. Other benefits include reduced power usage, less noise and less heat generation.
SSDNow V Series drives offer performance gains and power consumption reductions at a fraction of the cost of a new system. For added peace of mind, they’re backed by 24/7 tech support, a three-year warranty and legendary Kingston reliability.

Customer Reviews of Kingston 64GB SSDNow V Series SATA II 2.5" Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) Notebook Bundle
Solid upgrade - recent discounts make this drive a2/11/2011
I used this for the boot drive on my Late 2008 15" MacBook Pro. It's as simple to install and set up as any other hard drive (but you'll notice that migrating your data over doesn't take as long). I'm happy with the speed boost while booting and launching apps - so much so that I just bought the 128 GB model for my iMac. I'm giving this a 4 on performance just because the newer Kingstons with a 128 MB cache instead of 64 MB are faster.
Fast drive and fast rebate!2/2/2011
I bought this drive for my HTPC, and I really like it. This is completely silent, and startup time is very fast. It's faster than my old WD HDTV Live Plus. This is also the first time I've dealt with Kingston rebate, and I have to say that it is very fast. I sent it in on 1/14/2011, and I just checked the status today, and indicated that they've mailed it just today. Good work on Kingston's part!
Excellent Drive at a solid price12/19/2010
Installed this SSD in my iBook, and now enjoy much faster start up time. A good purchase; very satisfied.
Never go back.10/17/2010
This drive is awesome. Fast and quiet. I put it in a desktop so I had to get a 2.5 to 3.5" adapter. It doesn't hold much but I have a disk drive I use for storage and I don't have a lot of programs on my pc. Boot time is 20 secs and that includes about 10s of bios. I did a clean install with windows 7 64 bit. Beware if you check out using amazon, as kingston denied my $30.00 rebate saying I purchased from an unauthorized retailer.
Works great for Dell D6209/24/2010
My Dell was taking about 5+ minutes to boot up when I upgraded the harddrive. Boot up time is now 16 seconds! I was amazed. My laptop runs cooler too. The fan does not come on at all. The cloning software was easy to use and I did not have any problems like others. Maybe because I have XP operating system. Overall great buy.
Worked out of the box w/o a hitch on my desktop pc. Ghosted old system partition and the machine came up. I do not feel that boot time is faster but the machine is noticeably faster during use, especially application startup. Even though I have an older mobo according to fsutil TRIM is enabled. I run win7 x64, micrisoft driver (pcide.exe). Definitely worth the money. The supplied external enclosure although looks cheap works well and provides an added bonus.
I got this to see how much better SSD is than a traditional drive. It is faster. I notice it most in programs which access the drive a lot. Games take half the time to load. Windows 7 is a little faster but not as much as other programs. I followed the directions to move my old drive over to the SSD and it worked better than I thought it would. I guess time will tell if it holds up to the wear and tear.
swapped it into my ASUS UL30A very easily and now it is fast as can be. It boots up in 10 seconds every time. The enclosure to make your old hdd into a USB external is a really handy bonus.
