What happens on February 17, 2009?
On this day, all television stations in the US will cease analog broadcasting and only broadcast in digital.
Who is affected by this transition?
Viewers that have an analog TV, HD Ready, HD Display/Monitor and receive TV programming using an antenna will be affected by this transition. Analog TVs are TVs without built-in digital or ATSC tuner.
Who is not affected?
Viewers that subscribe to a cable or satellite service will not be affected. In addition, if you do have an HDTV with a built-in ATSC/digital tuner, an antenna or HDTV antenna will allow digital and HDTV (depending on the area availability) programming.
