ECO-Surge detects when you turn off the device connected to the "Master" outlet—typically a computer or television—then turns off the "Power Save" outlets. Turning off the Power Save outlets prevents any phantom loads connected to those outlets from wasting electricity. The "Always On" outlets remain powered to support devices like DVRs, cable/satellite boxes, broadband modems and wireless routers. When you turn on the Master device, the Power Save outlets also turn on and your entire system is ready to use.
