Moen is an American plumbing fixtures company that traces its roots to 1956 (though its earliest predecessor, Standard Screw Co., dates to 1900) and is currently (as of 2025) headquartered in North Olmsted, Ohio (with plans to relocate its HQ to Deerfield, Illinois by 2026). Its namesake, Alfred M. Moen, invented the first single-handle mixing faucet in the late 1940s after burning his hands on a two-handle faucet, and held dozens of patents over his lifetime. Over time, Moen became a leader in faucet technology, popularizing the “cartridge” mechanism for controlling water flow and temperature. Moen is now a subsidiary of Fortune Brands Innovations, under whose Water Innovations segment Moen’s operations include faucets, kitchen and bathroom fixtures, sinks, garbage disposals, and smart home plumbing products globally.
- Faucets & taps: Moen makes single-handle and multi-handle faucets for kitchens, bathrooms, bars, and prep areas — a core part of its business.
- Shower & bath valves / systems: It produces valves (like Moentrol, PosiTemp, and the newer M-CORE) and integrated shower systems, often with pressure balancing and volume control.
- Smart plumbing / connected devices: Under its “U by Moen” line, Moen offers smart faucets and smart showers controllable via app or voice (Alexa, Google, etc.).
- Sinks & accessories: The company offers kitchen sinks (drop-in, undermount, vessel) and related accessories, such as sink grids, drain hardware, etc.
- Garbage disposals & plumbing parts: Moen also manufactures disposals (often under associated brands) and replacement parts such as cartridges, trim kits, handles, etc.
