Kilian crafts fine perfumes and decorative objects for the home. Its founder, Kilian Hennesy, is an heir to the luxury cognac maker of the same name. He spent his boyhood amid the cognac barrels of his family’s trade and developed a love of scent that carried him through his university days. He wrote his thesis on the semantics of scent at university, looking for a language familiar to gods and mortals. He trained with legendary noses in perfumery and at houses such as Giorgio Armani, Christian Dior, Alexander McQueen and Paco Rabanne. He steeped his imagination, skill and talents in the most accomplished perfumeries the world has known and developed a fine-tuned mastery of the art. Kilian Hennesy launched his namesake in 2007 to create a new luxury brand, and he succeeded.
