As good as it gets!
This is my 6th ThinkPad and unless Lenovo screws up in the future what IBM achieved until now, I won't switch to any other brand. I still own an IBM A31p that I bought back in 2002 and which I like a lot, but since I started traveling again, I decided to replace it with a more lightweight laptop. With 9 lbs. the A31p is just too heavy to carry around. I was checking my options and also considered a Dell Latitude D600 (which I used and liked at my previous employer), just because I couldn't configure a new cutting edge (e.g. duo core) ThinkPad with the high-resolution display for less than $2K, whereas I could get a Dell D600 with those features for $1,300. Then I found a special for a T60 at Buy.com and decided instantly to give Lenovo a try. Any concerns about the fact that it's not an IBM anymore and that the quality might not be the same, immediately vanished after I got the T60 and used it for a day. In short, there is NOTHING that I dislike about this laptop; so far it has been the BEST notebook I owned. I added 1GB of RAM, so I have now 1.5GB. In combination with the 80GB hard drive and the 1400x1050 display, I got everything I need. It is lightweight and still offers all the features and pros that made the ThinkPad’s the best (and normally the most expensive) laptops on the market. I consider this an ABSOLUTE bargain! GS
