Product Overview

Three countries, three cultures, three distinct realities introduce us to the lives of three children (one Mexican, one Cuban and one little Moroccan girl) that all share the same sentiment: having to deal with the absence of a loved one and the need to bring him back home. This is a very tender hearted way of looking at migration from the perspective of the little ones left behind.

ReviewSource Variety
Review "On the Other Side," Gustavo Loza's excessively heart-tugging triptych of three youngsters venturing from home and into unknown territory, contains one-third of a fine film crowded by much weaker material. Fussily assembled tales set in Mexico, Cuba, Spain and Morocco contain some storytelling promise, but only the Morocco-to-Spain tale, involving an intrepid girl's odyssey, commands viewer attention. Pic marks a weak entry by Mexico in the foreign Oscar race, but with its international appeal, may gain wider biz in various Latin American markets, as well as some hugs at children's fests.
