Great book for those looking to start game develop

by Justin on 6/8/2008

This is a great book for those looking to start game development for PC and/or XBox 360. It covers all the topics required to create a decent game, leaving you with plenty of ideas as to where to go next to enhance your game(s).

The book does not cover all topics in-depth, nor from an advanced perspective. It does not claim to do such anyways, but just a heads-up if you're looking for something in-depth, and of expert-level.

I would recommend this book only if you already have a fair knowledge of the C# programming language, as they jump directly into using things like Generics, Iterators, and Class Inheritance.

Also, if you plan on developing for the XBox 360, be prepared to cough up $50 per 3 months, or $100 per year for an XNA Developer License...This is a royalty that MicroSoft enforces, not the creators of this book.
